Mine was a 1970's model - very basic beater with a (for then)
oversize 4.4L engine and unkillable Ford C4 transmission. Had a
problem with the power steering box seals but that was due to a
botched (twice) repair. No computers; ran it on LPG. All body panels
could be removed with a screwdriver and spanner from inside. They
should never have sold it to BMW - that was the end of things.
Old ones make amazing dune buggies.
