go figure ... I've just learned that my main problem when scanning
Velvia, is that in _my_ 4000ED they come much better if I
'accidentally' leave Kodachrome settings instead of 'calibrated RGB'
settings. no nasty blue cast :-)
that is ... depite C.H. advice, I still load NikonScan 4.0.2 with
adobeRGB1998 instead of sRGB, but found this trick of Kodachrome
settings for Velvia (!)
levels is the first thing I usually try, before playing with
highlights / shadows.
but that's me.
