Both the MD1 & 2 will clear, but the #1 is cheaper and easier to find. The
battery packs, however, will not clear and need to be connected with one of the
2 available cables. The connection will also clear, being off-center. There are
2 battery packs -- control pack 1 or 2 -- which are interchangeable but often
need rebuilt due to battery age. John H can do this.

I haven't got my gear handy to give it a go, but you can check the
image in

to get an idea.
The thickness of the base part of the MD1 is identical to that of a
Winder, so my guess is it would fit over the rails.
Now, for powering the MD, you'd need to connect a Relay Cord to the
connector that is clearly visible in the right picture of the MD. You
need to verify visually if that leaves enough room for the bellows
rails.
