I think what AG is saying is that modern wireless flash triggers use a pulse which does not work with the md/winder. He is not saying that a pulse is needed. He is saying that a pulse is used in these modern devices and it does not work. I just ordered a remote trigger (not flash, camera trigger) and will be experimenting when it arrives.
