Yes, I see ..... background lighting and distance from subject to
background are very different, so let's see the Hibiscus only, for a
fair comparison.
Well, I wouldn't say yours lacks contrast - only that it's done with a
digital camera and it has no grain whatsoever. It has also more details,
as it seems to be done with a macro set-up. My Hibiscus was at least
three meters away from the camera.
We should rule out the following while judging contrast / sharpness,
quoting Bruce Fraser (Sharpening with Adobe Photoshop CS2, Chapter 2,
Sharpening and the Monitor):
"Monitor Technologies
LCD displays are much sharper than CRT displays. An image that looks
sharp on an LCD display may still look soft on a CRT. An image that
looks sharp on a CRT display may look slightly crunchy on an LCD."
I'm afraid than more than a digital camera, I need a good TFT ... I'm
afraid it's gonna be a VA, and not an IPS ... only Samsung, ViewSonic
and Nec 'round here.
:-)
Fernando.
----- must go to sleep now C.H., it's 4 a.m. here !! Thank you.
