Optically, I find nothing wrong with the 600/6.5. It is an extremely fine
performer and actually a high-quality optic for its day (even holding its
own yet today).
The problem I have with it has to do only with usability. One really needs
to mount this thing on a big fluid video head and tripod. Also, I suspect
that it is severely misbalanced with a bare OM body or OM body with Winder
1/2. I think that it is a better match to an OM body with
Motordrive--especially the MD2. It should be a really good match to an E-1
or E-3 with battery grip.
Because of the vibration issues, I'd say that in the half-year that I had
one in my possession, I got only a handful of sharp images with it. When
they were sharp, they were REALLY sharp.
I wouldn't mind the focus mechanism if the rig was mounted on a fluid head
and I shot like I'd shoot video.
