THIS is the hottest thing that has happened in the world of do-it-yourself
stereo since the introduction of the Stereo Realist camera in 1947.
It is the first TRUE digital stereo camera.
Up to now, digital stereo photography was done either with one camera (and
shift) or two cameras synchronized with various ways. This camera makes
digital stereo easier and more convenient, and it has the potential to
create a new wave of do-it-yourself stereo photography (just like the Stereo
Realist did in the 1950s).
Because of the lack of a simple digital stereo camera (like this), a lot of
stereo photographers (most members of our stereo club, for example) are
still using film cameras. But things might change soon. What is still
missing is a good way to view (and project) stereo pictures, equivalent in
quality and simplicity to a stereo slide viewer. But there are developments
in this area too.
So, this is very important and every stereo enthusiast is (or should be)
watching the developments with great interest.
