Forgive me for hijacking the list to ask a PC question, but I've lost the
speaker audio from the rear sockets on my Dell PC. The front headphone
socket is ok, and the rear mic socket ok, and the PC detects when I plug a
jack into any of the rear sockets, but there's no audio coming out the rear
at all. What have I just done? Well I installed a new C: hard-disk,
reinstalled WinXP and all the updates, and installed a PCI -> parallel
printer card and of course I installed all the peripheral drivers. And
audio _is_ working ok out the front sockets so I think the driver is ok. I
reinstalled just to be sure anyway. Any brilliant ideas what I might have
done wrong?
Apologies again for the non-OM content - maybe you want to see a photo of
the rear sockets?
cheers
jez
BTW (on-topic-ish) - you recently all gave me great suggestions for scenic
routes around Lake Ontario - well I have to cull the >500 pictures before I
show them, but they were GREAT suggestions and we had a wonderful time.
Thanks!
