Then your answer is that you were simply outbid.  NZD 820 is about USD 
529.  At the time your bid was placed the bid was already at USD 541.50 
and the winning bid was 551.50 based on automatic increment of USD 10. 
And the winner was undoubtedly prepared to go at least somewhat higher.
