There are also lots of collapsible rubber "wide angle" hoods available
if you prefer. I think you'll find that generic "wide angle" really
refers to a coverage angle for a 28mm lens... as does this much more
expensive B+W "wide angle" hood from B&H

If you read the "features" panel you'll see a spec of 70 degrees for
28mm. The spec on the 28-48 says maximum angle of view of 75 degrees.
Close enough without impinging.
