Throughout the history of photography, nearly all of the most important and
compelling photographs were technically flawed in anything from minor to
near catastrophic ways.
On a semi-related note:
I just got commissioned to photograph a public library which is being
replaced. The photographs will have tremendous historic significance. At
the moment, the existing library is decades past replacement and the new
facility is beautiful. But, once gone, the memories of the existing facility
will fade and the stories of the glass floors will take on a form which
future generations will not understand.
