Hi all,
It has been a wonderful autumn here, and I have spent nearly three weeks
photographing golden colours of poplars and willows in rocky terrain, as well
as late wine grape harvest.
Nothing posted anywhere yet though. Returned home only a couple of days
ago.
Became thoroughly fed up with the misfit of my large hand and the small
510 body; I was always hitting buttons that were in the wrong place by
design (exactly where my the ball of my thumb lands), and several nice
shots were screwed up as a result. My favourite photo retailer had
discounted an E-3 body to USD 1,311, so I hit the BIN button. Delivery was
yesterday ...
I also discovered (when trying to fix what got screwed up by the landing
thumb ball) that there seems to be an inherent difference between the 510
and the E-1 of about one stop.
To satisfy an up-coming Obsession, I managed to land a Sekonic L 408 light
meter for USD 175, and it seems to do all I need. I discovered that my
Weston Master III was no longer delivering :-( First battery-powered
electronic exposure meter I have ever owned. About 20 - 30% the cost of
the new competition here.
