Archaic it may indeed be, but upgrading it for manual focus focusing aids -
don't go there! No OTF metering on the E-series cameras, so keep in mind
that the clear split-image in the centre of the screen will throw out the
metering in your E-1. Especially the flash metering. You don't need to ask
me how I know. But if you want a split-image screen for an E-1, I think I
might be able to help...

Has anybody cobbled a 2-13 screen into an E-body yet? The 2-13's
split-image/microprism is really nice to use. After using the 3Ti/4T a
while, going back to the E-1 seems archaic at best.
