Pretty much on the mark for many years.
Way back when, I did the flash bulb thing, then the fixed output
electronic thing. Then one day I got a T32 to put on my OM-2n. The was
the end of flash calculations and fussing.
I know the combo has limitations for the serious flash person. But for
all those family snaps, it did a very fine job year after year, indoors
and out. It's only with the advent of good high ISO on digital cameras
that I've been able to largely eschew flash.
