That explanation could fit a great many things these days...

In our case, I think it was just a case of a 6 year old who is growing 
and a stair rail that is fixed in place.
Too bad I didn't have my camera handy as it presented much more gruesome 
than the injury actually is.
(Think cheesy horror movie).
And you would never know it now.
