He's not talking about camera to lens aperture control. He's talking
about a fixed piece on the adapter to operate the aperture stop down
lever on the OM lens.
You can see the little black tab a the Fotodiox OM adapter.

And the less sophisticated, but effective screw acting as aperture tab
on a more generic adapter.

Without the tab, an OM lens is always wide open, no way to stop it down
when mounted on the camera.
M42 lenses with auto aperture pins have the same problem with old M42
adapters. There is nothing on the adapter to push the pin, so the lens
stays wide open no matter what. Newer adapters have a ridge or shelf at
the back of the threads to activate the pin. My old M42 mount Zeiss 50mm
has a thread too deep for the new adapters, but with very old style
preset aperture is actually ideal for use on DSLRs. So I have one each,
old and new style, M42=>EOS adapters. I suppose all M42=>4/3 adapters
would have the pin actuator.
