The real question is how to keep *him*/her to stay, not move out.
Once I stayed at a Zendo in Sonoma county CA and the small hut
was full of mice, and with the mice came fleas.
When I lived in Texas, we had a possum living in the garage. Seems
it liked the dry cat food supply. But you could just see the fleas jumping
around. I hate fleas.
So now Iiving in New England, where the mice don't seem to have as
many fleas. We have a snake running around also, mostly in the yard.
