Most important is Canon does not stop users from using non EF lenses, they
can made the camera to stop operation if no EF lenses were mounted to
protect any possible damage from using MF lenses, it do happen with some old
Contax lenses.
Olympus choosen the 4/3 system with all new lenses was not wise, they should
do it like Nikon, even both are shortsighted as Nikon announced no FF for
their DSLR some years ago. They should know the FF sensor will be very cheap
one day, people is going to FF even at current high price, consider some
years later the FF DSLR costs only $500, how would you choose?
