I have been using Lightroom since version 1.0 and it has completely
eliminated the need for Photoshop, iPhoto, ACDSee and a whole bunch of
other software I was using before. It takes care of my entire workflow
from the initial RAW conversion to the final output, whether that
final output is a web gallery or a print. I love it non-destructive
editing. In fact, I love everything about it.
One caveat is that if you want to do heavy manipulation on your
images, with adjustment layers and whatnot, then it is not for you. I
limit myself to basic levels and curves adjustments, cropping,
sharpening, a bit of dodging or burning as needed--all of that is in
Lightroom. For more advanced stuff you still need Photoshop.
