Here is where it stands currently. I could never get the monitor to "wake
up". I did a test that would indicate the monitor is not the problem. When I
attached the keyboard again, it got power but only for a few seconds. The
stars must have been aligned properly as when I was walking into the building
where the computer is located, a computer repair guy was just pulling into a
parking space to work on a computer next door to my studio/photo office (as
opposed to my insurance office). I cornered him and he came back, messed
around a bit and said he thinks it is the power supply. He says that although
the power initially comes on the computer does not go through it normal
routine
of powering up. I don't know if that sounds reasonable, however I'm going
to give it a try. We will see in a couple of days. Bill Barber

Mouse connected in USB port on KeyBoard and seems to waken the monitor just
fine when it "sleeps"

Hi,
I've come across a few Dell's with USB mice that dont seem to
work anymore when the PC goes into any power saving mode.
I found out that if you pull the USB plug out then re insert it,
all is well again.
The more permanent solution was to get a different brand of
mouse, it looks like something wierd with Windows and Logitec
(the dell mice I saw were rebranded logitecs) has developed, as
to who's at fault I have no idea, as I've also seen the same
thing with another PC with a logitec mouse.
Cheers
