High winds have really messed things up around here, the remnants of hurricane
Ike. Lots of trees down and power outages. My neighbors tree lost 2 large
branches into my yard and were laying across my power lines. I had to clear
them off of my power lines before the line snapped.
My youngest son headed out with me to clear our lines. I had him standby so he
could phone the ambulance and explain why his fool of a father was charred
meat. The wind was still gusting pretty hard so we cleared the line and headed
for shelter quickly.
If the line had snapped I'm sure I'd be without power for days at least. As it
is, I'm lucky to have any as they are curently flickering. I was afraid I'd
lose my craigslist sale if the buyer couldn't listen to my speakers. I love it
when I can turn a $40 investment into a $310 profit. The buyer was happy with
them and I can use the cash... My boys told me I was an old fool for buying
them at that yard sale :)
