I can't argue about color but the battery business is pretty much a non-issue in my book. I own a 4 with the new circuit but I assume that the OM-4's normal circuit draws about the same as the OM-2s. My experience with the OM-2s is that a set of batteries lasts about 6 months... as long as they're silver oxide. If they're alkaline you can only count on about 6 weeks. With heavy usage you might get less life than I got on the 2s but replacing 2 or even 3 or 4 sets of batteries per year is hardly a budget buster. It'll take a long time to cover the cost differential between that 4 and 4T at that rate. Start work on the "black is beautiful" theme.
