I heard one more bit. Fuji acquired Xerox Japan a while ago and is
moving into the much more profitable business and medical imaging
sectors. It will be surprising if the digicam line stays around for
very long unless they do it primarily for PR purposes like GE did when
they reinvented their home appliance line some years ago. GE had
intended to drop the appliances, but decided that the good will for
the brand would be helpful in the long run for the profitable part of
the corporation.
