Probably it is not your software, but your lens. The popular thing to  
do with macro design these days is to change focal length with focus.  
I think it helps with that whole dual purpose idea. You know, sharp at  
distance and up close. Your results will probably be fine if you have  
an older macro without built in focus compensation element like the  
old OM 80/4.
