I generally follow the lead of Groucho Marx when it comes to joining things.
I am aware of the PPA, but all I've seen is that it is directed to wedding
and portrait photographers of the high volume nature. Not much use to anyone
out of that area.
They did, and may still operate a school for photographers that presents
week long seminars for these guys. They are probably singuly responsible for
the homoginization of low end photos.
