Yeah, I sort of slipped up on step 4 ("credit" and "blame" not being the
same thing, yeah?) thinking that the "Success" of a satisfactory,
on-time, on-budget, responsible, smooth completion of the project with
all our customers extremely pleased with our company's (and specifically
my) involvement and performance was all that was required. Apparently
executive management considered other factors I hadn't. Hmm.
I use the term "retired" somewhat loosely, as you know. The word that
might be more appropriate rhymes with its second half though ;) .
I'm not bitter! Okay, maybe a little. :D
Still I think a headstone that says "Satisfactory IT Project Manager" is
a lot less "satisfactory" than one that says "He did nothing with his life".
