Matt, The Trip is a fixed lens compact. That said it is an excellent camera in its own right. It is scale focusing and auto exposure so apart from guessing the distance to your subject is the only thing you have to do is compose your shot. The scale has handy pictograms to help you guess, one person, group of people, mountains etc. I love mine.
