Just scanning over the list after a long time, and this caught my attention.
This week saw my first working day at a new employer, and I didn't want to
loose out on having a MacBook Pro (MBP), so I made sure I'd get one over
here too. ;)
It came with Tiger pre-installed on it still, but with a nice Leopard DVD in
the box (they shipped the machine on October 26th, the official Leopard
availability date over here). I first synced the stuff from my "old" MBP and
then installed the Leopard upgrade: works a charm!
The only thing that didn't make it through the initial (i.e. from tiger ->
tiger) syncing process was my Bootcamp Windows installation (which I had
also set up to work under Parallels), but my CentOS (Linux) Parallels VM
works fine.
I too have yet to get familiar with Leopard, but apart from some cosmetic
changes, it seems that most of the standard software (such as mail, finder,
etc.) has new options, and there are also entirely new programs, like Time
Machine, which is (supposedly) great for making "working state" back-upd of
your machine.
