Today, my wife and I hiked a trial out of North Adams toward the top of
Mount Greylock at 3400 feet. The 3 mile climb took about 2 1/2 hours
and we were both grateful the high temperature today was only in the
50's (Fahrenheit). The last 3/4's of the journey was a fairly steep
climb over mostly loose rock.
The first image is of the memorial built by the state of Massachusetts
at the top of Mount Greylock dedicated to all those that fought in our
nation's wars.

The second image is of a stone carving of a quote by Henry David Thoreau.
