Chuck,
Looks like it may be a variety of Nutsedge. I have a ton of it
in my beds too; so it grows from SC to MA. Seen here:

Note the very deep V groove running down the center of the blade. That
should be a key marker for something. I don't know what it is but
there's lots of it growing in my back yard where grass seed was strewn
and then covered with straw. I'm hoping it's a grain grass like wheat,
barley, oats, etc and it all came in as seeds with the straw. If so,
it's an annual and I don't have to worry about it next year.
Otherwise... oh, it's pretty tall and ugly amongst the fescue and
Kentucky blue grass.

film. But I was too lazy to get out the tripod.
