Ugh. Looks like "nut grass" to me. If you figure out how to destroy
it you can die a rich man. It is coming right through the plastic
liner for the gravel in my driveway. It sprouts from a little bean
like "nut" and detaches from it when you pull it. It sprouts again
and multiplies like crazy. I had a neighbor once who, crazed by it,
dug up his whole yard and sifted all the soil through screens. All
that work just knocked it back a bit.
