That occurred to me too. If denatured alcihol (metholated spirits) is
95% ethanol to 5% methanol as I understand, it should be quite
potable especially at lab. grade.

At the other end of that spectrum, a friend and I took the top 20%
off a bottle Johnny Walker Blue Label yesterday - hmmmmmmmmm.
