Thanks! :-)
Vivitar lens I purchased on ebay some time ago came with no hood which I
am missing more and more as I more often find myself in situations when it
would come in handy. Maybe the pictured scene is not one of them and flare
gives a pictures somewhat dreamy look but there were more shots spoiled by
a nasty "ghosts".

Camera was mounted on a tripod so all the shots are the same exact to
alteration of clouds and grass set-up. For me, the ground is not dark
enough to trick the lightmeter whereas the sky certainly is too bright.
Maybe the camera is smarter than me (I wouldn't be surprised if this
statement would hold the truth, anyway) and was fooled by vast highlighted
areas of sku.

Well, I am still learning and usually leave complicated matters to the
camera itself. It included light metering, of course. In tough situations
I use bracketing but as it usually turns out, it seems that the first
frame tends to be exposed most accurately.
The camera never failed me, lucky of me. Which I cannot really say about
the photographer.

I will do the same, then, thanks. :-)
