It is a nice feature if and only if you don't expect to fix all
problems (as some do). If you want to shoot a rock at 200mm at 1/60th
sec., fine. If you try the same with a moving object, ho hum. IS is
only ever half a solution to the movement problem - shooter shake.
The only answer to subject shake is free - faster speed and wider
aperture as usual. Thats one reason why big fast lenses are still
made and IS can be switched off. Sports shooters need it.
