When I thought of that old study, I felt somehow that you would have

I remember little more than the catch phrase 'sub second response time'.
I do remember that it led to building a data line of some sort by
trenching across the street between the hardware center blockhouse and
the building where the programmers and such worked.
As one who has spent uncounted hours interacting with terminals and
computers*, it really does make a difference. You can get into a
'groove' where stuff just flows rapidly. Soooo different than punch
cards. :-)
