Yes. The spot size does not change in relationship to what you see
through the viewfinder. It still approximates the size of the
focusing aid regardless of which lens you have mounted. If you are
concerned about the DEGREE it measures, that varies with the angle of
the mounted lens because it is a fixed area of the viewfinder.
In the OM4 series the meter is on the floor of the mirror box behind
a lens. The secondary mirror mounted on the back of the main mirror
bounces light coming through the semi-silvered center area of the
main mirror down to the metering sensor at the bottom of the mirror
box. That is why it stays the same regardless of the mounted lens and
why it is oh, so easy, to use.
