I have my normal commercial pricing on product. Pretty typical
pricing patterns there. But I also have a "Friends and Family"
pricing policy that I use for friends and family. It's two-times my
costs. Sometimes that means they actually pay MORE. :)
Honestly, until you have a good handle on pricing, the 2X factor
(also known as 'keystoning') is a great way of making sure you don't
get ripped and it provides a good baseline for future pricing
schemes. Just make sure that your baseline pricing includes a few
intangibles, like your time to go to/from the lab, packaging and
wear-and-tear on your equipment. People are generally very good at
accepting a 2X price.
