Still, that's eleven weeks of not teaching, a great deal more time off
than most working folks get in the US. Whether you use it for other work
of real vacation is still a choice of one sort or another.
I managed to sneak into 5 weeks after 20 years just before they capped
vacation at four weeks and was I grandfathered in. And remember, we
don't get week holidays at Christmas, let alone any other holiday. If
you want the week off, you have to use vacation days.
