For all the years I worked, I resented the Social Security deduction. Now that
I'm retired and getting a government pension, plus a generous Social Security
payment, both direct-deposited so I don't even have to get out of bed, I don't
feel too bad about it anymore. Between the two, I'm getting about $2500 a month
over what my regular and ordinary expenses are, plus lifetime health insurance.
Working your ass off for 40 years results in some benefits.
But with the job I had, for years I only worked two weeks out of three, and
some of the two were short. Working for the guv'mint don't pay all that much,
but then there are other advantages. :-]
