Or it was a real horse race and Olympus and Vivitar had the
misfortune to trail the pack by just a hair and ended up in the pen.
Consumer Reports has major issues with their "reliability" ratings.
Statistically speaking, they're a nightmare: a very small
self-nominated sample of subscribers working without agreed-upon
definitions for terms like "problem" or "service". I would not read
much into the numbers at all. It's bad science. The fact that CR
does so much of it does not make it any better.
