Did it ever. The infamous sticky magnet problem affected almost every one. 
The USA office saw fit to deny warranty coverage, thus leaving local stores 
(a prime source of customers in those days) with some VERY unhappy 
customers. Many dropped the line entirely. It was the beginning of the end.
