Yes, the first version had plastic curtain rollers, which gave some
problems, but worst was the "sticky magnet syndrome". Oil from the
shutter mechanism would get into the electromagnet that held the second
curtain open and it wouldn't release when the current was released.
A redesign replaced the rollers with metal and moved the magnet from
back near the shutter to the front of the body. There, it was both much
less prone to the oil problem and much easier to clean if it did happen.
Then they took that basic body, did a bit of external redesign, moved
manual from an add-on into the body and called the result OM-20 in No.
Am. and OM-G elsewhere. A lovely little camera and what the OM-10
"shoulda been".
