It certainly does sound pretty strange. A Schmidt corrector plate has
so little curvature that it would appear flat to the eye. But then
there should be no reason to also have the Maksutov corrector unless
this is some sort of hybrid with partial coma correction being
distributed between the two elements.
It's certainly an expensive way to manufacture. Let's hope it's
justified by the optical performance
