I had the opportunity, last night, to do more testing with my oboy
radio triggers. For flash work, they seem to be hunky-dory. But, I
wanted to see if they'd work with a Winder-1 on my OM-2S.
Short answer is barely.
It appears that the pulse is too short to really be effective. The
winder would partly whir and stop. A second trigger would take the
picture and a third trigger would advance the film. Sometimes two
triggers would do it, occasionally one, but mostly three.
While at Radio Shack, getting the micro-mini plug adaptor, I found a
Sandisk 1GB cf card on sale, with rebate for $14.95. Good enough for
me, so I picked one up.
I'll try the remotes again on a Winder-2 and will stick better
batteries in it to see if we can get it down to a single trigger. If
it works, I'll have to upgrade the ducttape holding that winder
together so it doesn't look quite so scary. Otherwise, I'll have to
use on-camera flash with the camera so I'll know if/when I got the
shot.
Thoughts?
