I agree with all the sentiments that have already been expressed.
I am fortunate to live near Livermore Muni Airport (KLVK) and even more
so because I currently keep the race car (Formula Atlantic) out there.
Across the way is a P-40, up the row 5 stalls is an AT-6, behind on the
next row is the P-51 Kimberley Kaye and a couple of rows over is
Merlin's Magic.
Apparently, for reasons of Geography, Livermore is close enough to the
Bay Area for the folks that can afford that kind of bird and just
outside the highly controlled airspace that makes it so difficult to fly
anything around here. There are some where near 20 flying Warbirds and
maybe another 10 to 15 in various states of disrepair. According to the
Museum People down at Chino, Livermore has the second highest
concentration of flying WWII aircraft in California. Second only to Chino.
Most of the Spring and Summer I am known to have the 600mm Novoflex
mounted on the OM2s in hopes of catching a shot like Philip Makanna.
Unfortunately you basically have to be in formation to get those shots
but the sound is still worth it.
It is a great place for Plane Spotting if you are near our backyard,
