Indeed, the E-1 is very silent. I was in the same situation in November.
The husband of one of our closest friends died in a brutal car
accident (an audi A4
with a criminal ran through red lights and smashed an audi A1 in half)
The news upset us very much, since it was such nice couple, two little
doughters and a lovely wife now sudden "alone in the world". Same age
as us. What was totaly unaccepteable was that burglars broke into the
house a week after the accident and stole papers, pictures and
the computer. At that time one really asks oneself what the higher
goal could be of all this to happen.
I was asked to do the funeral, since she wanted some visible memory to
get over the loss, and for the younger kids. It was a very nice
service, put together by friends and close relatives in an old hangar
along the riverside of Antwerp.
Doing the photography did hurt, at times I was happy that autofcus
exists, seeing all the sorrow through hundreds of peoples eyes by
times made me going 'blind'.
I certainly hope I don't have to do this again.
The top of the coffin was painted as a blackboard, and in the end we
could all give our personal message.

Anyway, the E-1 did well... back to meditative and silent mode.
