Wow.......just read the narrative version of the 4th July fireworks. I
have read and re-read the original post.
Forgive my obvious naivety but could someone cough, or kick me under the
table at the bit where I should be offended or insulted? I did not read
any inference that I am being duped although I stood behind many people
in PC World today parting with shedloads of cash for equipment they
think they need as recommended by sales assistants operating with more
dexterity than a shearer with a Merino sheep and a set of clippers.

I now have an E-1. If I did not base my decisions upon my own research I
would accept perceived wisdom of the populace that an E-400 10mp is
better than an E-1 5mp and have purchased accordingly.
Dixons UK retailer who started as a film processor and camera dealer now
do not deal in film. Jessops no longer deal in used film equipment.
However when home video was launched it was predicted that cinemas would
disappear. I understand cinema operation is now a growth industry.
My nephew is on duty in Basra at the moment and that is a topic worth
getting hot under the collar about, but clearly not for this list.
When I was only a film user I spoke only of filmish things, however now
that I have a digital camera ..............
