Chris,
Can't get away with anything round here... yes, they were scanned with a
flatbed (Epson 3170), thought nobody would notice as they were reduced to
800 px max... :-(
Will try to do better in future - honest... (since I scanned these I've
acquired a Minolta 5400 which does a much better job but I haven't found the
time to rescan everything). Reckon I should have gone to bed early, would
have avoided posting the dodgy scans & having to follow the exploits of our
even dodgier cricket team, shooting's too good for those useless
bastards.....
Have to go now, unfortunately we have some guests who don't follow your line
on food, they'll be demanding lunch anytime now :-)
Regards - Martyn

And to you, Martin; I could do with avoiding food for a couple of
weeks now :-)
Thanks for showing those photos of Bath and Duxford, both places
close to my heart: I went to school near Bath, a place called
Downside, and I live near Duxford and like the old aircraft.
But I think that your scanner has done you a disservice as many of
the images are quite soft. The compositions look good from the
thumbnails, but many of the larger displays have a disappointing
softness to them. For instance, Bath-Paxtons is nice and sharp, but
Bath-Abbey-03 is soft and the highlights on the van's C-pillar are
strange.
Are you using a flatbed scanner, perhaps?
