I used Blad 500-EL for my periscope intel photography on submarines in
the 60's and 70's and I never had a failure. But I always had a
complete spare kit, not just for the body, but for the extra magazines
also. The expense of the extra kit was nothing compared to the 80
million dollar tripod !
