Thanks for all the comments thoughth you might like that one, the one I
posted in Cai's gallery was this one

which I commented as ---- Cai keeps an eye on his bare behind.

don't worry he gets lots of hugs, he is at the stage where he wants to
be picked up all the time or he pulls a moon face (as my wife puts it).
HE seems to recognise us ok, this we thought could be a problem as he
has no sense of smell and that is how babies recognise their parents.

A lot has happened over the last month, Cai has undergone various tests
and the results have been promising. he can hear but the ear drums
doesn't move which they thought was due to a build up of fluids - so
they cut some holes in them to release the fluid, now we do think he
hears better.

They have seen that there is some movement in his vocal chords, its too
early yet but there is a chance we can remove the cannula in a year or
so - that in itself could be a traumatic event, one girl we saw had her
head balloon to twice the normal size, she recovered soon afterwards though.

Cai is nearly 14 months old now, physical development wise (sitting
holding etc ) he is 8 months old but with speaking and hearing he is at
1 month (but at least we know why this is). The good news though is that
he continuing to develop and when he gets to my age if he stays 6 months
behind the normal he will be a bout 20 years ahead of me ;-).

enjoy the weekend - I will I have my first christmas do tonight.
